• The retract-a-post mailbox post is designed to flex under the weight and force of snow that is hurled off the street at high speed. The retract-a-post mailbox post folds rapidly to prevent damage to the mailbox post due to the high force of the oncoming snow. The mailbox post incorporates an ultra-high strength compression spring to return the post to an upright position. The return motion of the mailbox post is controlled using a purpose-built and designed dampening device. This slow rate of return to upright helps significantly in preventing mail from being strewn about on the street or curb. The mechanism housing is fabricated with a heavy gauge welded steel construction, a durable rust-preventing electrocoat finish, and stainless steel hinges and hardware.

• Two different mounting designs are offered, 1) a 4” X 4” post mount to attach to a Pressure-treated 4” X 4” buried in the ground 2) an integral stake to install directly into the soil.

• Color options are also offered in White, and Tan.

  • The “retract-a-post mailbox post” is a unique novel design in that it provides for a rapid fold-away action under the force of the oncoming snow and a slow controlled return-to-upright position. This product also can accommodate many commercially available mailboxes to suit the homeowner’s preference. Additional attractive features or personalization can also be added to suit the homeowner’s taste.

  • Semi-gloss Black Electrocoat  finish which is durable and rust resistant 

  • Recovery spring is a high-strength thick cross-section extension design

  • Dampening Cylinder is specifically designed for heavy load and slow recovery rate
