Our Retract-A-Post mailbox post will take abuse from snowplows by folding away rapidly and returning to the upright position at a slow controlled rate. The return spring is a heavy .14-inch wire diameter with ASTM plating for rust prevention. The return cylinder is an industrial-strength cylinder designed to work flawlessly for thousands of cycles. The Mailbox post is manufactured using thermoplastic polymer designed to withstand the sun’s ultraviolet rays causing fading and degradation for long life

Easy Installation
This final design is the result of over a dozen iterations while continually improving each subsequent version. Early versions utilized more simple dampening devices that were not durable enough to last. Focus groups were assembled to review the designs and offer recommended improvements. Various spring rates were tested to find the optimal return force and the spring mounts were upgraded to accommodate the high-force spring. Early iterations were developed to fit within commercially available mailbox posts, however this proved challenging to bring to market. Therefore, a post design was selected that would accommodate the fabricated housing and could be supplied with the mechanism and mailbox mount. New options with cross post and gothic cap, and wood grain designs are currently in development and will be available soon.
